January Success Story
Jan 23, 2025
Keith mentioned on the phone that we came recommended by someone with a well behaved dog in the dog park. He also told me that Hugo knows a lot, but he is somewhat shy and scared. Of many silly things like going side places, doors, surfaces, etc. So when they came for the evaluation, I was ready.
What touched my heart is the relationship between them and how gentle and loving Keith treated Hugo.
Perhaps a bit too gentle, they both lacked confidence and Hugo was feeding off Keith… Keith already taught Hugo lots of commands, so the training needed was really to build up Hugo’s confidence by leading and showing him the way. And… the exact same with Keith😊!
After our Good Dog Manners Day School these two joined our AKC Canine Good Citizens Group class in Wellen Park and really aced it!
Here is what Keith shares in his own words...
"I brought my 20-month-old golden, Hugo, to DogSports4u after struggling with some specific behavioral issues. Despite my prior experience with dogs, I found myself at a loss when it came to managing Hugo’s fear and unpredictable behavior, like freezing, bolting during walks, or refusing to go through doors.
After just a few weeks, Hugo became a completely different dog. He now walks calmly through doors, behaves beautifully on outdoor walks, and reliably stays composed even in challenging situations. More importantly, Olga and the team taught me how to handle Hugo’s fear."
Hugo and I now enjoy long, stress-free walks, meals at outdoor restaurants, and visits with friends and family. The difference is remarkable, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the positive impact DogSports4u has had on both of our lives."
