March Success Story
Feb 27, 2025Meet Ray and Kim, and their 2 pups Hans & Fritz
When I get the calls about dog fights or worse yet, human aggression, I treat them as priority because it's an emergency. I know first hand from decades ago how scary and upsetting these situations are, and how painful and emotional we get watching our beloved babies show up as vicious animals. Even when they are just acting out as dogs being dogs, it feels traumatic and often the conversation starts with "I cannot keep him/her and have to find a new home for my dog because I can't imagine living like this", yet I hear and feel it in the person's voice how much they love their dog and how they hope for a miracle to happen. I listen, evaluate and explain, I don't always offer a solution on aggression over the phone till I can see the offender myself, but I always try to take the next step as quickly as possible before it escalates further...
Ray and Kim's case was not different except that this time the 2 offenders were the adorable mini schnauzer brothers! By the time I got the call this family was in distress. These two pups were out to kill each other!
I had an emergency dental surgery myself, but I promised to meet them that same evening so we could find the best solution right away and get them back to a peaceful home life. This is a success story about an amazing 3 week transformation which could not happen without everyone doing their part! I am extremely proud of Ray and Kim following all the instructions at home, and fitting in training and practice in their busy schedules. We are excited to have this family as part of our Dogsports4u family and cannot wait to see what is in store for these 4 in the future!!!!
Here's the story in their words:
"Our two 9 month old littermates starting having aggressive behavior toward each other on occasion after they experienced their second grooming. Olga met with us the same day we called her with our issue. Both boys did wonderful while Olga and her staff were spot on with their training.
They now listen to us and are working on getting back to being good brothers to each other. We joined the VIP Club to continue with training as we want our family to enjoy each other in the best possible way! Our journey of continued learning and training will continue on.
We now feel we will be able to move forward as a family that has two brothers that can live together. We had to learn to be the alpha. We are so thankful for this experience."
